ADVANCED INFRARED CAMERA FOR SITUATIONAL AWARENESS

The CubCam is designed as a Non-Required Safety Enhancing Equipment (NORSEE) part for CubCrafters aircraft equipped with a Garmin G3X panel. This thermal infrared imaging system improves flight crew situational awareness during airborne and ground-based maneuvering for object separation in reduced visibility conditions. The imager is mounted on a machined bracket and mated to an exterior plate that matches the interior and exterior shape of the leading edge of the wing - in an almost identical fashion to tab-type stall warning indicators - which provides a level and unobstructed forward view. The CubCam is intended to augment the safety enhancing features of the Garmin Synthetic Vision display.
